Passion for tradition, the sea, wooden boats and sailing, interesting and useful lectures, networking and connections marked the 2nd Conference on the Preservation and Interpretation of Croatia's Maritime Heritage, which was held on 26 and 27 September 2025 in Betina on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Betina Wooden Shipbuilding Museum.
The conference, organized by the Museum in Betina together with the Croatian Maritime Museum Split, brought together museum experts, representatives of associations and institutions, shipbuilders, researchers and enthusiasts from Dalmatia, Istria and Kvarner, who presented projects, research and experiences in the protection, interpretation and revitalization of our rich maritime heritage through seven thematic sessions.

Nives Giuricin, director of the Institution "House of Batana - Casa della batana" held a lecture entitled "Ecomuseum "Batana" - a reference point of Rovinj's identity" presenting the organization, work, achievements and plans of the longest-running interpretation center in Croatia, inscribed on the UNESCO list of best heritage practices.
The conference was an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences, encourage cooperation between institutions and strengthen awareness of the importance of maritime heritage as part of national identity and cultural heritage, and initiate joint activities and steps forward.
