We invite you to the online event "In Honor of Intangible Cultural Heritage Day: Youth and Women in the Safeguarding of Traditional Sailing in the Adriatic," which will take place on October 16, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This event is organized by the Ecomuseum House of Batana, with the aim of showcasing initiatives that encourage the involvement of young people—especially girls—in the preservation and transmission of traditional sailing.

  • Tea Perinčić, Museum Advisor of the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral, Rijeka – President of the Association of Maritime Museums of the Mediterranean (AMMM) – Presentation of the Association's goals for the next four-year period: Women in Maritime Heritage
  • Kate Šikić Čubrić, Senior Curator, Betina Wooden Shipbuilding Museum – Presentation of museum projects aimed at empowering young people, focusing on the participation of girls in traditional sailing
  • Katica Cvelić and Nataša Badurina, members of the Malinska–Dubašnica Women's Crew – Sharing experiences from regattas and discussing opportunities to enhance the involvement of girls in traditional vessel regattas

The event will provide an inspiring opportunity for participants to share experiences and discuss the roles of young people and women in the preservation and transmission of traditional sailing in the Adriatic, as well as to design future collaborative projects.
