During the 19th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Preservation of Intangible Cultural Heritage from December 2 to 7, 2024 in Asuncion, Paraguay, Ph.D. Tamara Nikolić Đerić, expert associate of the Association Kuća o batani-Casa della batana, was elected president of the Forum of non-governmental organizations accredited by UNESCO. The ICH NGO Forum represents a platform for communication, networking, exchange and cooperation of non-governmental organizations authorized to provide advisory services to the Intergovernmental Committee under the UNESCO Convention from 2003, which pays special attention to communities and individuals, holders of knowledge and skills. During the one-week session, Nikolić Đerić had the opportunity to open the Forum's annual symposium on the topic of Participatory Practices for the Preservation of Intangible Cultural Heritage and to meet with the Assistant Director General of UNESCO for Culture, Mr. Ernesto Ottone and the secretary of the Convention from 2003, Mrs. Fumiko Ohinata, on the topic of the future development of the Forum.
