Music, song and beautiful photos that connect women, batana and the sea will make this year's International Women's Day special.
On Saturday, March 8, starting at 6:00 p.m., the Rovinj-Rovigno Multimedia Center will host a Women's Day Concert organized by Brass Band/Banda d'ottoni Rovinj-Rovigno with the opening of a special exhibition.
"Vignì sul mar, muriède..." Woman, sea and batàna - La donna, il mare e la batàna" is the title of the photo exhibition with which the Ecomuseum "Batana" pays tribute to the gentle but strong bond that has bound the women of Rovinj to the heritage identity of their city through the centuries, which owes much of its beauty to them.
Some seventy photographs will weave a story about different moments in the lives of Rovinj women who have bound them to the sea, batàna and other boats, which will certainly awaken numerous memories and emotions and make this year's Women's Day unforgettable.
The photographs date from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day, and come from the private archives of Rovinj families, the Museum of the City of Rovinj Rovigno / Museo della Città di Rovinj Rovigno and the Center for Historical Research Rovinj /Centro di ricerche storiche Rovigno.

Storelli, Dejan Djuric, Diego Giuricin, Gordan Ukić, Josip Kučinić, Miranda Benussi Malusa', Eufemia Benussi Krelja, Eleonora Krelja Obuljen, Lenadro Malusa', Giorgio Affanni, Suzana Benussi Gortan, Massimo Sella, Dino Bogešić, Silvia Jochum, Susanne Clari, Giacomelli/Venezia, Jasmina&Davor, Giorgio Affanni and Valerio Drandić.

The exhibition will be open to the public at the Rovinj-Rovigno Multimedia Centre on that day, while it will be on display at the Ecomuseum-Ecomuseo “Batana” from 10 March 2025 to 15 April 2025.
